Our School History

Known affectionately as the "Saints," Saint Mary School was established under the leadership of our beloved late pastor, Reverend Monsignor Robert T. Bulman, in July of 1952. The construction of the original eight-classroom school commenced with groundbreaking ceremonies and was completed by June of 1953. Its dedication was honored by the Most Reverend George W. Ahr, Bishop of Trenton. Opening its doors officially in September of 1953, the school welcomed its first students, totaling two hundred eighty-five in grades one through six. Staffed by the devoted Sisters of Saint Francis of Christian Charity and Penance alongside three lay teachers, the school flourished under the guidance of its inaugural principal, Mother Euphemia Nash.

Reflecting on the journey of our students, witnessing their growth into accomplished professionals such as doctors, lawyers, accountants, educators, as well as clergy members, brings immense satisfaction. It's heartening to believe that the education they received here served as a cornerstone for their future success. The legacy of Reverend Monsignor Robert T. Bulman lives on through the enduring impact of Saint Mary School.
